New book carousels in LibGuides

Do you need to add a new books carousel to a LibGuide? It is now even easier to do this. Each carousel has been created as a widget which can be quickly added to any guide, as follows.

Go to Add/Reorder where you want to add your carousel and select the Media/Widget option.

Add media

Click on the Reuse Existing Widget tab and type “new books” in the search box. Scroll down to find the subject you want and save.

Reuse widget

Open your LibGuide in Preview mode to admire your carousel (you may see a blank screen in Edit mode- don’t worry, it is there!)

Hey, I really like your book carousel. Would you be willing to share your widget code? We are just about to do our own LibGuides 2.0 migration this summer. 🙂

We used to use a home made widget but we’re now using LibraryThing’s book display widgets http://blog.librarything.com/thingology/category/book-display-widgets/
